How we tested candy in a squonk mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Batch code and production date, so a candy bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every candy bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where candy goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.33 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.33 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡32 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On candy the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.33 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does candy taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the candy blend itself harsh.
