Candy pod kit IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Candy in San José: 21 units tested over 3 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Candy is allowed to say
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Candy pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 21 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long candy tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a candy pod kit really costs in San José
A candy pod kit from the cheapest options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.71 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested candy in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every candy bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where candy goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pod kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for candy in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On candy the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.71 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does candy taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the candy blend itself harsh.
