Candy pod kit IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Candy in San José: 24 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the candy habit
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
A candy pod kit from the best options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.48 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long candy tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a candy pod kit really costs in San José
Candy prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.48 per 10 ml.
How we tested candy in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where candy goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡39 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.48 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long candy in San José survives.
- Mixing candy with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for candy in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How long does candy in a pod kit last?
In San José we measured 5 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does candy taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the candy blend itself harsh.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
