Candy pen device IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Candy in San José: 11 units tested over 8 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a pen device for candy
A candy pen device from the reviewed options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.43 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Candy pen device reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 11 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a candy pen device really costs in San José
We run candy the same way in San José: same pen device, same 8 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested candy in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where candy goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why candy tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
