Candy nicotine salt bottle IQOS in San José: the order shortlist — Iqoscostarica
Candy in San José: 21 units tested over 4 weeks, nicotine salt bottle formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the candy habit
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Candy in San José reaches the shelf in nicotine salt bottle formats, and the pre-order ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the nicotine salt bottle you buy decides how long candy tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a candy nicotine salt bottle really costs in San José
Candy prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.54 per 10 ml.
How we tested candy in a nicotine salt bottle
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the nicotine salt bottle that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a nicotine salt bottle arrives sealed but wrong.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every candy bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a candy bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where candy goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a nicotine salt bottle and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a nicotine salt bottle that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest nicotine salt bottle available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should candy start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a nicotine salt bottle.
Why does candy taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the nicotine salt bottle units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the candy blend itself harsh.
Is candy legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
