Candy cartomizer IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Candy in San José: 20 units tested over 3 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Candy is allowed to say
Candy cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 20 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Candy in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Below is the run we did for this search: 20 units, cartomizer, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a candy cartomizer really costs in San José
Candy prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.22 per 10 ml.
How we tested candy in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every candy bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where candy goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Mixing candy with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
