Blackcurrant RDA IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Blackcurrant in San José: 19 units tested over 7 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Blackcurrant sounds like one product. It is not: a RDA running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Blackcurrant in a RDA is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the RDA you buy decides how long blackcurrant tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a blackcurrant RDA really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested blackcurrant in a RDA
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long blackcurrant in San José survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised ₡49 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.26 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should blackcurrant start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a RDA.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On blackcurrant the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.26 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
