Blackcurrant prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist — Iqoscostarica
Blackcurrant in San José: 9 units tested over 4 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with blackcurrant in Costa Rica
We run blackcurrant the same way in San José: same prefilled pod, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
A blackcurrant prefilled pod from the bulk options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.33 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the prefilled pod you buy decides how long blackcurrant tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a blackcurrant prefilled pod really costs in San José
The honest read on blackcurrant: 9 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested blackcurrant in a prefilled pod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for prefilled pod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a prefilled pod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 9 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡60 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.33 per 10 ml.
- Ignoring the batch date on a prefilled pod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why blackcurrant tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for blackcurrant in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On blackcurrant the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.33 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should blackcurrant start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a prefilled pod.
