Blackcurrant pod kit IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Blackcurrant in San José: 8 units tested over 2 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the blackcurrant habit
The honest read on blackcurrant: 8 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
A blackcurrant pod kit from the flat-rate options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.33 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long blackcurrant tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a blackcurrant pod kit really costs in San José

How we tested blackcurrant in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every blackcurrant bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Mixing blackcurrant with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡57 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.33 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why blackcurrant tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
