Blackcurrant mesh tank IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Blackcurrant in San José: 9 units tested over 3 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a mesh tank for blackcurrant
A blackcurrant mesh tank from the cheapest options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.48 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Blackcurrant mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 9 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long blackcurrant tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a blackcurrant mesh tank really costs in San José
If you are looking at blackcurrant in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested blackcurrant in a mesh tank
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a blackcurrant bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why blackcurrant tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.48 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡35 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
What nicotine strength should blackcurrant start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a mesh tank.
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
