Berry cartomizer IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Berry in San José: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the berry habit
Berry in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Berry prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.6 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the cartomizer you buy decides how long berry tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a berry cartomizer really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested berry in a cartomizer
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where berry goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why berry tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a cartomizer and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
