Apple squonk mod IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Apple in San José: 14 units tested over 9 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good squonk mod from a repack
If you are looking at apple in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Apple prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.95 per 10 ml.
Below is the run we did for this search: 14 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a apple squonk mod really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested apple in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every apple bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where apple goes wrong
- Mixing apple with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long apple in San José survives.
- Treating the advertised ₡55 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.95 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does apple in a squonk mod last?
In San José we measured 9 to 14 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On apple the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.95 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should apple start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
