Apple squonk mod IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Apple in San José: 6 units tested over 2 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a squonk mod for apple
Apple sounds like one product. It is not: a squonk mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The short version: apple in San José works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a apple squonk mod really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested apple in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a apple bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every apple bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where apple goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡29 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.14 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Packaging for apple in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Is apple legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Why does apple taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the apple blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should apple start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
