Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
Apple in San José reaches the shelf in box mod formats, and the pre-order ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
We run apple the same way in San José: same box mod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: apple in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a apple box mod really costs in San José
If you are looking at apple in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the box mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested apple in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every apple bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where apple goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest box mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
What nicotine strength should apple start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
How long does apple in a box mod last?
In San José we measured 2 to 20 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
