Apple box mod IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Apple in San José: 9 units tested over 3 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the apple habit
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Apple in a box mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: apple in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a apple box mod really costs in San José
Apple prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.35 per 10 ml.
How we tested apple in a box mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every apple bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Spare parts availability for box mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where apple goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long apple in San José survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised ₡47 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.35 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
